Weigela florida Foliis Purpueris

Weigela florida ‘Foliis Purpueris’ is more spreading in habit. It has dark pink flowers which are softer pink inside. The handsome foliage is deep green, with a bronze to purple hue. The leaves have better colour in full sun. Each trumpet shaped bloom is around 4 cm long. They open in cymes of three or four, late spring into summer. Weigela are gorgeous, deciduous shrubs with a compact, rounded habit. Grow Weigela as part of a shrub border, or as a specimen plant.
