Any Bare Root orders received now will be shipped during June/July 2022 (Peonies) and July/August 2022 (Roses) We endeavor to ship all orders in the order they are received.*
Perennials and Tubestock will ship all year round. All perennial and tubestock orders will ship on the following Monday after your order is received. If a public holiday falls on a Monday your order will be held to the following Monday for shipment.
*As we may have large quantities of orders to process and ship there may be a delay in your order shipping. We will always try to send all orders as early in the season as possible.
Please note: For orders placed during the bare-root season of June through to the end of August please allow 5-6 weeks for your order to arrive as we have 100’s of orders to process during this period.
Please note due to the nature of peonies being living plants it is sometimes hard to know exact numbers. Products do become unavailable due to losses. Unfortunately losses, breakages or unsaleable products do happen. We have no control over this and the available numbers we list online is an estimate. We will not know true numbers until we dig and this happens when we ship your order. If a peony becomes unavailable on your order we will issue a refund and note this on your order.

Freight and Packing Charges
*Unfortunately, The Garden Trough does not ship to the Northern Territory, Tasmania or Western Australia.
All products are shipped via Australia Post and shipping charges are calculated directly from Australia Post on our website when you enter your postcode. The Garden Trough includes a charge as part of your shipping costs for materials and packing costs.
Please note during June – August orders may be delayed. Please allow up to 6 – 8 weeks to receive your order during this period.
Credit Card Payments: are captured and processed via Stripe. No information is stored on our website or servers.
Afterpay: Pay for your order in 4 easy installments via Afterpay. Please note if pre-ordering peonies using Afterpay you will still complete your 4 payments and your order will ship in winter when the bare-root stock is ready for shipping.
A Tax Invoice will be emailed when your order is shipped.
Additions/Changes to Orders/Combining Orders
All orders will be treated as separate orders. We will happily take additions to a current order so please email email@example.com with any additions. All orders will be treated as separate orders due to the shear volume of orders we are trying to process during the bare-root season.
If you would like to make changes to a current order please email us and we will happily assist with any changes you would like to make.
From time to time, there may be errors on our websites such as wrong pricing, wrong descriptions and offers for products that are not available or are no longer available. Despite anything else in these Terms, to the extent legally permitted, we may decline or cancel any orders that are affected by the error, even if the order has been confirmed and a credit card charged. If your credit card is charged for the purchase and we cancel the order, we will notify you and credit your credit card account for the amount charged.
*Peonies will be sent out all year round (bare-rooted from June – End August and Potted in 125 MM pots all other times). Depending on stock availability. All Rhizomes will be shipped with an average of 2-3 eyes (Please note some varieties may only have 1 large eye, this is extremely rare). Orders will be filled strictly in order of receipt. All parcels will be sent by Australia Post. We will not hold orders for extended periods of time. All orders will ship as early in the season as possible.
All peonies are carefully packed and individually labelled for planting convenience and safe transit. When your plants arrive unpack the parcel immediately and water well. You may plant out at your leisure and water on a regular basis until plants have settled in.
Our range is very extensive, and it is difficult to predict in advance our customer’s requirements. At times some products become sold out or we may deem a product not suitable to send. Unavailable products will be left in your order with a note they are unavailable and a refund for any unavailable products will be issued.
*Please note our listings are produced well before our crop is dug. If plants are not mature or in top order, we will withdraw from sale until next year.
Here at The Garden Trough we make every effort to supply plants of suitable quality and of the variety specified at time of sale. Our perennials and peonies are packed with care and should arrive in good condition. If you have any doubts about the condition or quality, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your delivery. We cannot accept responsibility for breakages during transport. We have no control how your package is treated once it leaves our care. If a plant is damaged and does not recover we will happily issue a credit for the damaged plant.
A 25% fee plus charges associated with AfterPay/Credit Card will be charged on any cancelled orders due to customer error to cover administration and restocking/listing of cancelled products. These amounts will be deducted from your order total before any refunds are issued.
Peonies: Plants are a living product, its performance will depend on the growing conditions and how it is cared for, which are factors beyond our control. We cannot therefore automatically accept responsibility for losses. If your plant has received our recommended care and doesn’t perform to your satisfaction, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. We do not guarantee peonies planted away from the residence of the purchaser. If a peony does not survive please contact us via email including photographic evidence. Warranty against losses is valid for 60 days from the date your order is shipped. If we do not receive photographic evidence no refund or credit will be issued.
You acknowledge and agree that we are excused from performing our supply and other obligations and will not be responsible for any delays were and so long as we are prevented from performing our obligations under these Terms by events or causes beyond our reasonable control. We will endeavor to notify you of any delay and its expected duration. If we are prevented from performing our obligations for longer than a reasonable time, we may elect to cancel your order and issue you a credit in the amount paid for the order without further liability to you.
These Terms (including any terms or policies incorporated by reference) set out the entire agreement between you and us concerning its subject matter and supersedes all prior communications.
We may alter these Terms from time to time by posting the altered version on our website. You should visit the website regularly to keep up to date with any alterations. In the case of an alteration, the altered Terms only apply to goods ordered via the website after the alteration takes effect.
